All different in flavour, but the common threads of each trip are indeed a great affirmation of the true nature displayed by the vast majority of natives of Asia to motorcycle travellers. I even paused my reading to consume another book, so that the delights of Sam and his travelling friends collection wasn’t over too soon! “G’day Sam hope your well & hope this finds you, I’ve been reading your book The Moment Collectors ASIA & I must say what a tremendous read. To be honest I’m not a big book reader as I quite often drift off in my thoughts & go, what did I just read? But this book was amazing. I got so engrossed in it I had trouble putting it down at times. So well thought out stories of motorcycle explorers & their journeys & I could vision them on the journey riding along the ups & downs of the trip just like being there.
The stories also were giving you a history lesson along the way also & makes you want to head over there & explore these places. Credit to the riders who obviously were challenged on their rides at times through these untamed places by motorcycle, to explore & see what the rest of the world is like. Great book highly recommend to read it even if you aren’t a motorcycle enthusiast. This book is more than just for motorcyclists, it’s an expedition into the unknown”

As with the first, it takes the reader on a well-curated journey around Asia through freezing Himalayan passes and into the chaos of Iranian cities with many other locations beyond. “For those of you who enjoyed the original “The Moment Collectors” book two years ago, here is another fantastic book I am sure you will love. And for those of you who haven’t yet read that original book, then I can highly recommend two great books for you. This one, and it’s predecessor.
For “The Moment Collectors – Asia” is another great anthology collection of twenty different tales. All pulled together by the highly experienced traveller himself, Sam Manicom. Each story is told by a different author. So you can dip in and out of the book on which ever chapter you fancy next. And whilst these authors are a unique and diverse set of individuals, they all share much in common. Their love of motorcycles, travel, adventure, and seeing and experiencing different countries and cultures. As such this great read is suitable for anyone who has, like myself, toured themselves. As I’m sure you will enjoy the stories, whilst smiling at your own memories which these tales will no doubt re-kindle of your own travels and experiences.
For those of you planning a trip, these stories will, I’m sure, enthuse you in developing your plans, and perhaps even make you change those about a bit, to allow you to take in some of the learnings and insights offered here. Finally, for those of you who are unable to travel for health, financial or other commitments, then I’m sure you will equally enjoy this great book. As you will get to read about, and feel that you experienced, aspects of the incredible world we all live in, and what great adventures are available in it in general, and in Asia in particular.
And if you are stuck on your Christmas present list, can I suggest you either ask a friend to buy you this book; or buy one or two copies yourself, and pop them in the stockings of loved ones. Problem solved! And I’m sure you won’t regret that.
