Heard of Biker FM? I hadn’t until a year ago when a friend mentioned them to me. By that time I’d been involved with the Side Stand Up show in the USA so was interested to hear that an online radio show for motorcyclists was available in the UK.
One of the presenters concentrates on the world of adventure motorcycling so I was delighted to be invited on his show earlier this year. Graham (aka Slimbo) and I had a great natter and he played some excellent music.
Well, the invitation was extended to me again last night and we had a ball on air. If you were one of the listeners, cheers & if you were one of the many people who emailed or phoned questions in, great to hear from you.
Graham and I nattered for the first hour of the show about all the things I’ve been up to this summer – well not all, but you get my drift! We had the chance to chat about the fun of making my first book ‘Into Africa’ into an Audio book. A challenge, a gamble and an excellent learning curve of an adventure. I for one had never expected that life would lead me in the direction of over a week in a recording studio working with a sound engineer who worked with people like Katrina and the Waves and Boney M just to name two.
We chatted about making Into Africa into an Enhanced e-book too. Originally I was amazed that there is such interest in e-books, but I now know that I shouldn’t be! Making this happen was fun too. Why, well an enhanced e-book has video clips inserted and some of them in this book are very funny! Especially the ones at the end. Not intended, honest!
We also talked about the presentations I’ve been doing for bike and travel clubs around the UK this year, and about what happens next.
There are two keys what happens next. I’ll be at the UKs biggest motorcycle show, book signing again this year. You can find me on the Travel Dri Plus stand – really looking forward to this show – Motorcycle Live at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC). It’s a great opportunity to meet friends old and new and to introduce my books to people who’ve not come across them yet.
And the second? The HUBB UK 2013. This link will take you there. I think you’ll be impressed. I hope you can make it.
And while still here, if you fancy listening to the pod cast of the show last night (24th October) then click on this Biker FM pod link
