Sometimes things are very slow to happen. Perhaps too often the slowness is because I’m stubborn. That’s an advantage when the chips are down on a trip and you are having to work yourself through something gnarly. But in the publishing world perhaps I should behave a bit better!
Almost 2 years ago some sort of technical error that no one could explain, meant that the audio book version of Into Africa was suddenly dumped from Audible. Over the next months I received a lot of ‘Not possible’ comments in return to my requests to get the book live again, with all the amazing reviews listeners had given it.
Stubbornness eventually turned to pragmatism, and with the amazing help of Roger at Kite Studio, Into Africa is now available as an audiobook on Audible again. As you can imagine, I’m delighted. Now to try to get the audiobook version of Under Asian Skies live again. That was technically glitched at the same time. Fingers crossed.
You can now download a copy from Audible, Spotify and i-Tunes. I very much hope you’ll enjoy it.
If you do, may I ask a favour please. Would you mind posting a review please. Help me to get the ratings back up. So sad to have lost all the original reviews!
Media Reviews:
MotorBike Rider Magazine – ‘On starting the book, the first chapter will captivate you into wondering what else could possibly happen, and then you are taken on an adventure, through Sam’s eyes but through your own minds eye too as you conjure up your own adventure pictures of the journey and what is happening along the way. This book took me on my own adventure through Africa without having to leave the comfort of my chair, and it’s not very often a book does that for me. Just need to get the next in the series and follow more great adventures of Sam Manicom……’
Motorcycle Sport and Leisure Magazine – ‘Rather than hire a voice-over merchant or an out of work actor, Sam narrates the whole thing himself, and very well it works too.’
