Producing my first book ‘Into Africa’ as an audio book felt like flying on a wing and a prayer, but after frequent requests we decided to have a go and linked up with the Kite Recording Studio in Cambridge. As with every punt there are risks and this all felt like a new journey into the unknown. After all, there were hardly any motorcycle travel audio books out there. There had to be reason for that didn’t there? Perhaps there was no market and the investment of both money and time would be a complete waste. But as you know, I rather like the unknown…
To our delight the Into Africa audio book has been well received and as with the book version, people have been asking “What happened next?” Do listen to the free chapter by the way.
Working again with Kite Studio, whose MD just happens to be an avid fan of long distance motorcycle travel, we set to recording the second book in the series, ‘Under Asian Skies’. This time I loved the adventure and well, we now wait to see what people think of it. Always a nervous time! There’s more information on the book on this Under Asian Skies Audio Book link, and you can find where to pre order a copy. You’ll also have the chance to listen in to one of the chapters and find out where to download a copy.To all of you who are fans of travel, commute to work, love to listen to tales of the road while on a long journey, this is for you.
I also want to make a special note for those who struggle with dyslexia and those who are hard of sight. Without your enthusiastic encouragement, these two audio books may well never have happened. Thank you, I hope you enjoy travelling across Australia, New Zealand, SE Asia, Asia and the Middle East with me. You’ll also find out how I met my partner Birgit; something about a bicycle? As usual, disasters find me, but I’m completely delighted by the sights, sounds, scents, and the people and their cultures. What an amazing part of the world to travel through.
